AhnLab, become a Microsoft MAPP member
AhnLab Inc. (CEO Hongsun Kim, www.ahnlab.com; global security solution provider, recently joined Microsoft’s MAPP (Microsoft Active Protection Program) as a partner.
MAPP is a program that provides security vulnerability information of the company’s OS (operation system) or applications to security software companies prior to announcing official updates. MS announces security updates every second Tuesday (based on Korea time). By providing information regarding security vulnerabilities ahead of time, partners are able to properly prepare countermeasures for the announcement. Accordingly, MAPP partners can secure efficient and prompt countermeasures to various security threats including zero-day attacks.
By joining MAPP, AhnLab can raise the countermeasure abilities of not only the V3 anti-virus product family, but also AhnLab TrusGuard UTM and various other network security solutions against security threats. The company can now incapacitate the usage of vulnerabilities through the V3 product family before the malicious codes appear. Also, solutions such as the UTM (unified threat management) and IPS (intrusion prevention system) solutions will be prepared one step ahead by applying network attack packet blocking technology. Clients can therefore be provided with even safer security solutions for PCs to networks.
